Modifying the transmit delay for Ethernet devices
ForEthernet‐enabledION8800,ION8600orION7550/I ON 765 0meters,youcanset
theTransmitDelayparameterto0forfasterfirmwareupgrades.Notethatyou
shouldalsosetthe UseAck/N acksparametertoNowhenyoumodifythetransmit
delayforthesedevices.
UpgradingfirmwareforION7300seriesmetersrequires
aminimumtransmit
delayof50ms;however,itisrecommendedthatthedefault150mstransmitdelay
beused.Checkthissettingbeforeyouattempttoupgradeyourdevice.Failureto
haveaminimumof50mstransmitdelayforION7300seriesdevicesmayresultin
upgradefailure.
Configuring device transmit delay
1. Startthe
ManagementConsole.ClicktheDevicesiconintheleft‐handpane.
2. Right‐clickthedeviceyouwanttoupgradeinthelistofdevicesandselect
Properties.
3. Right‐clickinthedialogboxandselectAdvancedProperties.
4. SetTransmitDelaytoatleast50ms(150msisrecommended)forION7300series
meters,orsetTransmitDelayto0forION7550,ION7650,ION8600andION8800
meters(setUseAck/NackstoNo forthisla ttergroupofdevicestoo.)
5. ClickOK.
This must be set to a minimum
of 50 ms for ION7300 series
meters (150 ms is the default).
